thanks and umat questions
|
hi dallas,
just wanted to say thanks for your help this year. superkeeneye is awesome and your reading technique and tips for sect 2 were very helpful.
finally got some spare time to order my thoughts on the umat, and thought some questions might be useful to you next year.
here are the ones i remember the best:
The printing press was invented in the 15th century, and made it easier to produce writings of scientific findings. Before books had to be written out by hand. What can you infer?
a) Books were less expensive after the invention of the printing press
b) As a result, more people became literate/learned to read
c) Some books in the 15th century were about scientific findings
d) ?
Shape of outer ear and location of sound (jingling keys) experiment Peter has both eyes covered and one ear covered. Someone jingles keys at various locations around Peter and he has to point directly at the keys.
Later - his exposed ear is covered by a cylinder so the shape of his outer ear is symmetrical rather than asymmetrical.
Which variable is being tested?
a) Shape of outer ear (right)
b) Shape of artificial ear attachment (his ear is not an attachment)
c) Sounds in different locations
Diabetes - I know it's my fault (son has diabetes)
a) I'm sorry we have to go over these questions again. It must be difficult
thinking that you're to blame. Would you like to talk more about it?
b) You are not to blame at all. I'm sorry we have to go over the questions
again. Once we do and he's on treatment, he'll feel much better (not the issue)
sect 2 - there were a lot of the 'explain thoughts, feelings behaviour' rather than 'what would you do' type questions.
sect 3 - there were a lot of the new type (Mensa-like) questions - probably about 15-20 out of 30.
hope that helps.
a fellow mensan,
ann boyapati
ps - is it ok if i email you later in the year if i get an interview(s) for some tips?
